Last night, Swifties for Kamala hosted our kickoff call and wow, did we have a marvelous time! From Surprise Song O’Clock with Carole King singing Shake It Off to Senator Elizabeth Warren letting us know how many listens of All Too Well (10 Minute Version) we have in a day to organize and get out the vote for the Harris-Walz campaign (144, if you’re wondering), the night was filled with the energy and inspiration we need as we head towards election day on November 5. If you missed the call, you can watch the recording here.
You heard the rumors from Inez, and this time it was true!
We’ve launched an exclusive collection with Social Goods, a sister-owned small business that makes and sells statement-making merchandise that gives back to nonprofits and raises awareness of today’s most pressing issues.
Our “Voting Era” Collection is just the first merch drop for Swifties for Kamala and benefits organizations working to register voters and help them have their voices heard and elect Democratic leaders up-and-down the ballot who will protect our democracy and rights!
A huge thank you to the more than 34,000 Swifties who joined us last night at our Zoom kickoff call!
We raised over $122,000 dollars! for the Harris-Walz campaign and announced some very exciting ways YOU can help get out the vote — and one of them even includes a way to be entered into a raffle for Eras tour tickets!

And the best part?! For every action taken from your link, you will be entered into a sweepstakes to win Eras tickets in Toronto!
Welcome to the general election, Swifties! After the DNC this past week (which you can read more about in last week’s special edition of Paint the Town Blue), both parties officially have their nominees, which means we’re off! Are you ready for it?
This week, the Harris campaign is headed to Georgia! Today and Thursday, Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz will embark on a two-day bus tour, culminating in an evening rally in Savannah. This comes on the heels of news that the Democratic National Committee and some Georgia lawmakers are challenging new rules created by the state election board about certifying the results of the election.
As the general election progresses, our next big milestone will be the debates, with the first one currently scheduled for Sept. 10 on ABC! It seems that the smallest man who ever lived thought about backing out but on Tuesday reaffirmed he will show up for the debate. So come one, come all, it’s happening — and stay tuned for more developments in the Harris-Walz campaign!
We’re back this week to deep dive another topic covered in the Project 2025 document — education. And unfortunately, it looks like bad news.
The document, in clear language, calls for the end to the Department of Education as it currently exists: “Federal education policy should be limited and, ultimately, the federal Department of Education should be eliminated” (pg. 319). It also mentions revoking the current Title IX regulations and restoring Title IX to what it was under Betsy DeVos’s leadership (pg. 333), along with eliminating the Head Start program (pg. 482), a critical resource for many low-income or rural families.
People who take out student loans could also be massively affected, as it suggests doing away with the existing income-driven repayment plans (pg. 337) while also recommending private companies take over managing student loans (pgs. 320 and 340).
Just wait, the worst is yet to come if we don’t spread the word and let others know about the dangers of these Project 2025 proposals!
As Vice President, Kamala Harris was tasked to work with Central American countries and address the “root causes” of why people were leaving for the United States. Despite many Republicans incorrectly labeling her as the “border czar,” she raised about $5 billion — mostly from private companies — to invest in communities in the region in hopes of developing job creation and other opportunities locally and therefore driving fewer people to seek refuge in the U.S.
During VP Harris’s speech at the DNC last week, she touched on immigration and pledged, “As President, I will bring back the bipartisan border security bill that [Trump] killed. And I will sign it into law.”
She emphasized that as a nation of immigrants, we can and should strike a balance to:
Work to reform our broken immigration system while still appreciating our immigrant heritage
Secure our border while also creating an earned pathway to citizenship
Advance our security while also boosting our values abroad
We expect more details to come on her immigration policy, but know that with Kamala Harris as President, we’ll be safe and sound.
Calling all Ohio Swifties! Self-proclaimed Love Story enthusiast, Taylor Swift admirer, and friendship bracelet maker/trader Sherrod Brown is up for re-election this year. Brown’s race is considered a toss-up, and his seat is at-risk of flipping red.
Also up for re-election this year is Marsha Blackburn, whose name you may remember as being the first political candidate Taylor Swift spoke out against. We don’t think she’s changed much, but we won’t change her name or any real defining clues.

August has, in fact, slipped away like a moment in time… As September approaches, it’s time to get serious about voter registration!
Most states have deadlines in October, but some states require a bit more effort if you’re planning to request an absentee ballot, or you’re registering to vote for the first time ever. Visit iwillvote.com and select your state from the dropdown menu to make sure you don’t miss a beat and are ready to vote in November!
I didn’t know Gloria Johnson was running for Senate. Hope the two Justins will run for Congress in 2026! Heading right over to Act Blue Express. Thank you!
Love what you all are doing. Well-organized and smart. Thank you for your work!
