This week Kamala Harris has continued traveling the country, talking to voters, and supporting hurricane relief efforts. She’s also continued her media tour, participating in an interview with popular radio host Charlemagne Tha God where she answered tough questions on Trump and other topics, spoke about her faith, and told stories about her family.
The other campaign, on the other hand, seems to be in shambles. JD Vance gave an interview with the New York Times this week where he admitted to shirking his share of the parenting responsibilities, denied that his opinions on Trump had changed, and once again refused to clearly state that Trump lost the 2020 election. For his part, Trump stood on a stage for 20ish minutes this week, staring at his audience while Ave Maria played on repeat rather than participate in a Q&A. Despite being led by these foolish ones, the polls still show the race virtually tied (within the margin of error, for all our statistics nerds out there).
It’s more important than ever to get involved, whether that’s signing up for a phone bank, going door knocking, or even forwarding this newsletter to a friend or family member you want to make sure votes!
You’ve read about the different portions of Project 2025 and their imposing restrictions, but what about the cost? This week we’re diving into what this project will do to our economy if implemented.
According to Energy Innovation, a non-partisan group that analyzed the impact of the Project 2025 environment policies, by 2035 our country will see a deficit of over $250 billion in GDP. For the Federal Reserve, they have several ideas such as closing the reserve and reinstating the gold standard, even though analysts predict a cost surge of $27,00 USD per ounce of gold just to pay off the debts of the reserve. A final hard-hitting change is the tax structure which will see lower-income families* paying approximately $9,200 more due to the cut of lower tax brackets and the loss of tax credits. On the flip side, that same family** in the higher tax bracket would benefit from $325,000 in tax reductions.
*Math based on a two-parent 100k income with two children
**Math based on two-parent 5 million income with two children
They also suggest that the Department of Labor alter the Fair Labor Standards Act so employers have to pay protected employees time and a half for working on the Sabbath, saying “That day would default to Sunday, except for employers with a sincere religious observance of a Sabbath at a different time” (pg. 589).
Now that you know the price goin’ in, it’s time to get your voting plan together to make sure our economy doesn’t backslide into the Great Economic War.
VP Kamala Harris is putting in the work with numerous interviews, rallies, and policy announcements in the past week. This past Monday, she announced her Opportunity Agenda for Black Men, which includes her plans to:
Legalize recreational marijuana and ensure Black Americans have opportunities to succeed in this industry
Provide one million fully forgivable loans of up to $20,000 for Black entrepreneurs and those in underserved communities
Establish regulatory framework for cryptocurrency and other digital assets to help the 20% of Black Americans that own or have owned them
Launch a National Health Equity Initiative that addresses sickle cell disease, diabetes, mental health, prostate cancer, and other health challenges that disproportionately affect Black men
Election Day is less than a month away, but honestly, baby, who’s counting? It’s us, hi, we’re the counters, it’s us! So while we count down the days, you can always look more into the Harris-Walz policy plans here.
Pennsylvania residents, this is a worthwhile fight! Two House races in your state have been rated as toss-ups and need your votes to stay blue.

What if we told you we’re back…to remind you to check your voter registration! If you live in Wisconsin, your last day to submit an online voter registration is TODAY! Visit our website and select your state to learn more about these deadlines and make sure your registration is up-to-date — before it’s too late! Note: The dates listed here are for online and mail-in registration deadlines. Some states allow in-person registration past this deadline.
Oct. 16 - Wisconsin
Oct. 18 - Connecticut, Nebraska
Oct. 21 - Alabama, California, Iowa, Michigan, Pennsylvania
Most states have registration deadlines in October, so even if your state isn’t listed above, we don’t think you should wait; we think you should check your registration now.
I tried to sign up for about four text bank dates and mobilized did not register them. I will try again, but I’ve never had that problem before.
