There’s still time to shop our merch — start your new September in style!
We’ve launched an exclusive collection with Social Goods, a sister-owned small business that makes and sells statement-making merchandise that gives back to nonprofits and raises awareness of today’s most pressing issues.
Our “Voting Era” Collection is just the first merch drop for Swifties for Kamala and has already raised $13k for organizations working to register voters and help them have their voices heard and elect Democratic leaders up-and-down the ballot who will protect our democracy and rights!
The stakes are high, the water’s rough, but this election is ours — with the help of swing states!
This week, we are highlighting four swing state-specific volunteer opportunities, so no matter where you live, you can have a direct and powerful impact on crucial states this election!
You can beat the heat and virtually be in [Arizona] too: Sign up to attend Arizona Democrats’ virtual text bank training on either Friday, Sept. 6 or Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 6 - 7:30 pm MT! During this Zoom training, organizers will introduce you to the texting platform they use, train you on how to use it, and then discuss how you can get involved to text with them on a regular basis.
I guess you’re in [North Carolina] today: Sign up to phone bank with North Carolina Dems on Wednesdays and Thursdays! There are three shifts available: Wednesdays from 2 - 4 pm and Thursdays from 1 - 3 pm or 3 - 5 pm (all times in ET). There will be organizers on the Zoom call to answer any questions you may have!
Nevada: A [state] on the West [Coast], and me and you: Join the 2024 Nevada Victory group for a virtual “Out of Staters” phone bank on Sat, Sept. 7. There are three time slots available: 12 - 2 pm, 2 - 4 pm, and 4 - 6 pm (all times listed in PT).
Want to find an in-person event in your community? Use the Harris campaign’s search tool to find local volunteer opportunities!
Welcome back, Swifties! It’s been another wild week on the campaign trail. On Labor Day, Vice President Harris and President Biden held a rally with union workers in Pennsylvania. This was their first joint appearance since President Biden passed the torch in late July. Gov. Walz, not to be left out of the fun, rallied with labor groups in Wisconsin!
The first presidential debate is happening next Tuesday, Sept. 10, on ABC, and both candidates are hunkered down in debate prep. Find out more info about the debate and how to watch here!
You Look Like Taylor Swift: And the most Taylor Swift-coded moment of the campaign this week goes to… the Harris campaign’s record-breaking funds transfer to down-ballot races. Taylor’s known for using her power to help smaller artists, the same way Kamala is helping out down-ballot Dems!
This week’s Project 2025 topic will affect roughly 51 million people in America, and that is immigration. Let’s unpack the threatening plans Project 2025 discusses for our nation’s immigrants.
The plan outlines shifting funding to increase immigration enforcement such as detention and deportation (pg. 135). They’re also looking to merge many existing departments into a new immigration and border agency, placing it at Cabinet-level control and “making it the third largest department measured by manpower” (pg. 133). Programs like DACA and refugee resettlement would be severely impacted, if not halted altogether (pg. 145). The elimination of the T and U visa (pg. 141) would be a major blow to individuals seeking protection in the U.S. from crimes such as trafficking. Project 2025 includes this quote: “Victimization should not be a basis for an immigration benefit.”
People’s families, education, and lives are at stake in these proposed immigration reforms, so get out to vote to see a better future for all in the United States.
Last week, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz had their first sit-down interview together with CNN’s Dana Bash. Among the topics discussed were her phone call with President Biden when he told her he was stepping down, her Day One priority if elected as president, and the changing of her positions and how she’s evolved since initially running for president in 2020. However, she stood firm that while her perspective might have shifted on specific tactics while gaining experience as Vice President, her values are the same.
While previously co-sponsoring the Medicare for All Act of 2019 with Sen. Bernie Sanders, a current campaign official has confirmed Harris will not push for single-payer government health insurance as part of her presidential policy.
The Harris-Walz campaign does aim to bring down healthcare prices through other means and support policies, including:
Capping annual out-of-pocket costs for all Americans, not just Medicare enrollees, for prescription drugs at $2,000 annually. This would include the $35 monthly out-of-pocket insulin cap.
Committing to sign legislation that protects abortion rights and reproductive freedom if Congress passes it
Taking on Big Pharma to cap prescription drug costs to save middle-class families thousands of dollars a year
Encouraging ourselves and our friends to enjoy sweet treats (This may not be an official policy, but as lovers of Taylor’s chai cookies we strongly endorse this.)

Damn, y'all. That's one of the best-written, most information-packed emails I've ever read.
I agree, really well done! Thank you!
